Social Engeneering Attempts To Fix The Problem

There have been many types of social engineering attempts to try and curb America's appetite for gasoline and other fossil fuels. The most widely known attempt is past Vice President Al Gore's documentry "An Inconvienient Truth." This movie chronicled the progression of global warming and predicted the bleek future of our planet if drastic changes were not made.

Another less known social engineering attempt to reduce America's use of gasoline was a government program focused on giving rebates to people purchasing new cars. If some one purchased a new car that got at least 6 mpg's better than thier old car, they were issued a tax credit.
